This is exactly how stupid progressives and Democrats appear to culturally conservative Americans when they label as “racism” beliefs that these Americans know are in reality vastly different and more complex.

The first thing to point out is that the South African judge in charge of this UN report is Jewish. So calling the report "anti-Semetic," is bizarre. Secondly, all criticism of Israel gets called "anti-Semetic," and this is an extreme example of that. (Since the judge in charge of the report is Jewish). No? Third, Most people are making their judgements based on actions -- like the blockade genocide in the Gaza Strip. It's fair enough and in fact moral to condemn this blockade (and it has nothing to do with racism). If racist accusation were allowed to avoid any criticism then during the evil rule of Hitler in Germany, he should have deflected any criticism by calling it "anti-German racism." No? Distress at the genocide of the Palestinian people, the slow starvation of over a million and a half people in the Gaza strip, has nothing to do with racism. End the blockade and much criticism would also end. It's a shame this ploy distract from looking at the real issues

And they certainly don't get easier if your parents are from different faiths, different parts of the world, different ... you name it. So Mr. Bardwell is just simply ridiculous if he thinks he's thinking about the children. Yes, children go through tough times, but we are resilient. Even more important, we learn from our challenges -- and I think we become better people. Because I am of mixed race, I cannot simply stick to stereotypes of how one racial or ethnic group behave. I must look at each individual independent of what I think -- and I think that assessment happens when people look at me and try to figure out what I'm all about. This process of not jumping to conclusions, of really viewing people on some deeper level, makes me a better person. And I think it could work for you, Mr. Bardwell.

At times this is a necessity because police officers often find themselves in situations where a high degree of assertiveness is all that stands between them and losing control of a situation. I also know from personal experience that if police officers are not constantly reminded of the dangers of crossing the line through their use of their authority, then abuse of their power is a virtual certainty. Further, as with any minority (and police are a minority), associates tend to stick together. That police will back up one another, even when their fellow officers are wrong, is as dependable as sunrise.

So for older adults, the best advice might be to avoid acquaintances who speak in stereotypes. This research suggests prejudice can be contagious, and we become more susceptible as our brains age.
