Political Posturing on Iran, via Masbury @ Clipmarks
    willhelm
    by willhelm  6-21-2009    7
One of the most definitive moments in recent history and all the political hacks of the Left can do is play defensive on Obama’s ignorant stance. Is it true that overt American involvement could have negative results? Yes, that is true. It does not mean, do nothing. The experts say there is much we can do. The policies over the past 8 years are bearing fruit. We are witnessing the demise of the fascist status quo. Yet those who encourage fascism in our own culture aren’t the least bit bothered by the fascism in others. If we miss the opportunity to let the Iranians know that we support them, then we may not have the opportunity for generations. It is BEYOND disgusting to take this issue and tell the world and world leaders, ’shut the hell up”.Our reticence could result in a massacre of the Iranian people.

Let us end the death penalty
    willhelm
    by willhelm  5-23-2009    6
I am really of the mind that a strong percentage of Conservatives and Libertarians oppose the death penalty. I would like to see a strong and vocal movement from the Right to end the death penalty. The problem is that many on the Left also support the death penalty. It is one of the most politically homogonous issue we have. I believe supporting a culture of life means supporting life for ALL the living. Is ending a life really punishment? Come on, people.

National Sanctity of Human Life Day, 2009
    willhelm
    by willhelm  1-18-2009    2
I signed legislation in 2003 to ban the cruel practice of partial-birth abortion, and that law represents our commitment to building a culture of life in America. Also, I was proud to sign the Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004, which allows authorities to charge a person who causes death or injury to a child in the womb with a separate offense in addition to any charges relating to the mother. The sanctity of life is written in the hearts of all men and women. On this day and throughout the year, we aspire to build a society in which every child is welcome in life and protected in law. We also encourage more of our fellow Americans to join our just and noble cause. History tells us that with a cause rooted in our deepest principles and appealing to the best instincts of our citizens, we will prevail.

    Social Science is not Science
    willhelm
    by willhelm  8-1-2008    3
"Their desire to hold on to that illusion causes them to resist many sorts of new information which conflict with their ideas. That is very human, but it ain't science. Indeed, what goes on in the social sciences would make for a fascinating sociological study." I have long held the view that social sciences are profound bullhockey, if I may use a technical term. If you research the foundations of these "disciplines" you will find that they are all based in a materialist foundation and seek to confirm that foundation through the masterful manipulation of descriptive and inferential statistics. It is time we recognize that sociology and much of the psycho-pop babble we are subjected to is nothing more than materialist propaganda.

"much of the wacky, upside-down, right-is-wrong, black-is-white stuff we see in the news these days is directly or indirectly inspired by Gramsci: the attacks on Christianity, the family, individual freedom, morality and moral judgements; multiculturalism; the cult of victimhood, "tolerance," political correctness, the replacement of the roles of family, religion, individual responsibility and choice with government rules, laws, and regs; the expansion of the State and the Welfare State and the Nanny State; anti-tradition, anti-capitalism, anti-success, anti-nationalism, anti-Americanism and anti-Westernism, etc - all the stuff that makes me echo Bob Grant with "It's sick out there, and getting sicker." I am sure Antonio never anticipated that a Green movement would emerge to become an ally of the slow, incrementalist and thus less-alarming Gramscian revolution."

    Rationalization drives the culture war
    willhelm
    by willhelm  7-15-2008
"According to Dr. Jack Kevorkian, for example, all those reluctant to participate in his rationalization for killing people (including, it turns out, some who are not even ill) are the real problem; the judicial system is "corrupt," the medical profession is "insane," and the press is "meretricious." Of the coroner who found nothing medically wrong with several of his victims, Dr. Kevorkian said that he is a "liar and a fanatical religious nut."

    16 year old isolates plastic-eating bacteria !

    by willhelm  6-14-2008
After three months of upping the concentration of plastic-eating microbes, Burd filtered out the remaining plastic powder and put his bacterial culture into three flasks with strips of plastic cut from grocery bags. As a control, he also added plastic to flasks containing boiled and therefore dead bacterial culture. Six weeks later, he weighed the strips of plastic. The control strips were the same. But the ones that had been in the live bacterial culture weighed an average of 17 per cent less.

    Letting go of our defenses
    willhelm
    by willhelm  2-9-2008    3
Excerpt:s: “Lenin was surely right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.” "Inflation in the United States means a weaker dollar, and a weaker dollar means a weakened United States. It also means more tanks and jet fighters and missiles for Moscow and Beijing. As America sinks in self-absorption, Russia and China look outward. The suffering of the Russian and Chinese people is centuries old. They are adapted to suffering, but America has adapted itself to hedonistic expectations. In an attempt to cling to prosperity, America is ready to let go of its defenses."

The internet is full of all kinds of interesting things. The great thing about Clipmarks is we are free to clip and discuss issues, culture, people, hobbies, philosophy, intelligence, stupidity, randomness, order, and anything else you can imagine. I think clipping comments is a great thing to clip. I can sort these comments, think about them, and even blog about them. By the way I have clipped comments I thought were very exceptional as well. Just ask Ouyangwulong. So the only harassment taking place is the harassment of you attempting to demonize my actions and intent. My actions and intent are no different than yours when you clip something. The only difference is, LJSDESIGNS, is that I would NEVER prohibit you from giving your view on one of my clips unless you were profane and vulgar.

We are entering the age of corporate totalitarianism. American companies are now global companies and American sovereignty is secondary to the wishes of the global capitalist. I'm as big a capitalist as anyone, but tyranny can come from any faction. The mainstream of America is being ripped by forces at both ends - Cultural Marxists on one end and corporate totalitarianism on the other.

" What Miss Hunt did not tell the reporter is that she was the secretary of a man by the name of Eddie Bernays, nor did she tell him that Mr. Bernays was now a self-styled expert in the new discipline of Public Relations who had just received a handsome retainer from the American Tobacco Company to promote cigarette consumption among women. What billed itself as a feminist promotion of the emancipation of women was in reality a public relations ploy to open a new market for tobacco by getting women addicted to cigarettes."

    The path of judicial tyranny
    willhelm
    by willhelm  12-12-2007
"The Supreme Court of the United States packages its deracination under the guise of freedom, privacy, and individual rights, which today are more attractive and seductive than the now-discredited approaches of the Nazis and Soviets, but that is merely a tribute to America's infatuation with advertising and salesmanship. And, by and large, the Supreme Court is succeeding. It has lost no power despite the outrageousness of its attack on the family. No Justice has been impeached, and the Congress has not restricted its jurisdiction. Indeed, so sacrosanct are these decisions in America as the law of the land that many in Congress will try to thwart the nomination to the judiciary of anyone opposed to the abortion decisions."

"The new battleground, reasoned Gramsci, must become the culture, starting with the traditional family and completely engulfing churches, schools, media, entertainment, civic organizations, literature, science, and history. All of these things must be radically transformed and the social and cultural order gradually turned upside-down with the new proletariat placed in power at the top." Learn your history people. Niceness - A substitute for goodness?
    willhelm
    by willhelm  12-10-2007
" the word "nice" is often used as a synonym for "good," as when someone compliments a man for being "a nice guy." But a world of difference separates the bland quality of being "nice" from the Christian virtue of charity and the virtue of justice. While it is relatively easy to be "nice," charity and justice are exacting and demanding. Anyone can be nice -- that is, easygoing, non-threatening, non-judgmental, and tolerant. A nice person never criticizes or judges; a nice person avoids confrontations and arguments; a nice person does anything and everything to keep peace and make life comfortable for everyone. He hears no evil and sees no evil. A nice person never insists on virtue or ever questions the prevalent practices and trends of the day. A nice person never feels outraged at shameless behavior or shocking injustice. While being nice easily leads to popularity and respectability and never creates enemies, it does not inspire admiration, cultivate heroism, or evoke respect.'

Who is Antonio Gramsci? - You Better Learn

    by willhelm  12-10-2007    22
"His methods became in fact, the "field manual" for the many that followed. If you understand Gramsci, you will understand the "peculiar" and "weird" theories that are in vogue today. And you will understand that they are not the work of "weird crazy people" but rather of calculating and quite intelligent operatives." I IMPLORE all Right-thinking people to educate themselves on the ideas of Materialists. They are more prevalent now than they ever have been. You need to know what is behind the trends in HIgher Education, Political Correctness, Environmentalism, The thousand or so political action, interest groups that tear the fabric of America (ACLU, NEA, Think Progress, Moveon.org) and a thousand others. They are founded in Progressive/Marxist/Materialist views.

Herbert Marcuse - The seeds of Materialism in American Culture
    willhelm
    by willhelm  12-9-2007    1
1964 Marcuse published One-Dimentional Man, a critique of both advanced capitalism and communism. It looks at the loss of potential for revolution and new forms of social control in capitalist society. ______________________________________________________________ Marcuse's popular lectures at the university were harshly critiques of American civilization. His audience included many students who would eventually make their own marks as influential thinkers, such as Angela Davis and Abbie Hoffman. ______________________________________________________________ Marcuse died in July of 1979.
