POPSMany Eyes for an Eye People sniff at the phrase "Disproportionate Response", but it's the hard, cold truth of the matter. Hey, here's an idea; how about Israel stop stealing the tiny amount of land the Palestinians have left, stop blocking aid to Palestine, stop blocking refugees from leaving Palestine, stop bulldozing Palestinian homes and business to make your safety zones rather than making them from your own territory, and stop crying crocodile tears to the world? That, or extermination of all Palestinians are the only things that are going to stop this cycle of violence, and the solution is entirely up to Israel.

POPSModern Religion Mankind's most influential accomplishment; fighting each other to death over niggling little details in a book that really just essentially tells us to love each other unconditionally. Sometimes, you just want to cry...

POPSAmericans on Palestinians and Jews There are people out there who claim that Israel is just defending themselves, but their fail to point out that the only reason they need to defend themselves is because they're treating a minority with the exact same ill behaviour as was exercised on the Jews over the centuries. Yes, Israel is being attacked, but only because they started the problem. If they would just stop being such hypocrites, and spitting in the faces of their ancestors, they wouldn't need to defend themselves from the consequences of their actions.

POPSPresidents Gone Wild How much time is Obama going to have to waste undoing all the damage Bush is doing in his last months of office?

POPSFree Speech in Iraq It's a shame the guy got arrested, though, and is facing charges for trying to kill (??) a foreign president. Not all that free.

POPSBayard Rustin Why hasn't this improved in all this time? Next to white males, the gay community is the group most frequently prejudiced against. What have we been doing the past 20 years?

POPSLooking at Deals Well, technically, Reagan broke it; we just didn't see the repercussions until now; not that Bush is innocent in this recession debacle.

POPSKissing up I think the place that Harper was really kissing the Governor General is a little bit higher, and toward the back. The proroging of Parliament is such an insult to democracy; propping up a puppet regime when the representatives of the majority try to do what's best for Canada.
1
POPSThe Tao of Loony Tunes Harper's government's got nothing left but cheap political tricks. Only 1½ months past the election, and his government is falling apart. This is what happens when you campaign with nothing but lies — eventually, your lies catch up to you.

POPSLame Duck: Canadian Style
Stephen Harper managed to avoid having his government disbanded and replaced with a coalition government only by playing politics, meaning that people suffering from the recession are going to be screwed for another 2 months of Parliament doing nothing because brainiac Harper had it prorogued. Harper, when everything points to your government being about to fall, it means that you've lost your mandate. You won the October election based on lies and slander, and now that people see the real truth about you and the Tories, they want nothing to do with you. Enough of this "flouting democracy" bullshit — you want to know what democracy is? 62% if Canadians voted against , for the left-wing opposition parties. That is where the true majority government lies. All you've managed to do is screw up the government so bad that all the opposition is now completely in lockstep against you. This sleazy trick of yours isn't going to work; you're just making Canadians hate you more

POPSGetting clued in Fortunately, everything is shaping up for there to be an end to Harper's misbegotten government. Dion as PM might not be ideal, but it's a far sight better than the team of mindless yes-men that Harper claimed he applied to the problems facing Canada

POPSIf they went any slower, they'd be in reverse Despite the fact that the Tories duped a lot of Canadians into believing their lies that they would help the economy, they are doing anything but. They talk about having a "Mandate", but the truth is, far more people voted for left-wing MPs (Liberal and NDP). If Stephen Harper is really interested in fulfilling the will of the people, then he'll step aside, and let this left-wing coalition take over the government. We know that the Liberals and the NDP know how to handle financial crises; unlike the Tories, who only know how to create financial crises.
