About me
I will be 59 July 22. A Vietnam Veteran fighting my own Government.
Wood Turner by trade.
Non Religious.
Single not looking. Just trying to survive.

My website has been canceled due to my health. I hope to return to my art work when I get better. I will then be showing and selling my work at a very good craft place. You can check this out by going to.

Why I use Clipmarks
To find the truth in our society. To wake up a country that may be headed for a fall. Do you know the history of Rome. The history of Nazi Germany? History repeats itself, because we allow it to happen. Information can defeat Dictators. With the power of destruction that most countries have. We can not allow the few to dictate a view of hate. The next world war will be the last.

The Record is Clear' - Dick Cheney is Not Credible
cptenaud
by cptenaud  10-25-2009    3
For certain, Cheney is not the only one pressing Obama to hurry his Afghanistan strategy. The Neo-Conservatives have taken to every media outlet that will have them; and, if they're not talking about Afghanistan, they're second guessing the president's diplomacy with Iran, Russia, etc... For reasons I find incomprehensible, media outlets -- and not just Fox News, mind you -- treat them as if their credibility isn't completely lacking when it comes to matters of national security. That ship sailed months, if not years before Obama's election. Consider the scathing rebuke of Cheney issued by Gen. Paul Eaton (Ret.), senior adviser for the National Security Network:

Maybe this was the Bush plan all along. Tank the economy and you will have an endless number of unemployed signing up for your illegal war.

Weapons failed US troops during Afghan firefight
cptenaud
by cptenaud  10-18-2009    11
A week ago, eight U.S. troops were killed at a base near Kamdesh, a town near Wanat. There's no immediate evidence of weapons failures at Kamdesh, but the circumstances were eerily similar to the Wanat battle: insurgents stormed an isolated stronghold manned by American forces stretched thin by the demands of war. Army Col. Wayne Shanks, a military spokesman in Afghanistan, said a review of the battle at Kamdesh is under way. "It is too early to make any assumptions regarding what did or didn't work correctly," he said. Complaints about the weapons the troops carry, especially the M4, aren't new. Army officials say that when properly cleaned and maintained, the M4 is a quality weapon that can pump out more than 3,000 rounds before any failures occur. The M4 is a shorter, lighter version of the M16, which made its debut during the Vietnam war. Roughly 500,000 M4s are in service, making it the rifle troops on the front lines trust with their lives.

Irony of Obama's Opposition
cptenaud
by cptenaud  10-6-2009    7
And now, as President, Mr. Obama consistently speaks of solving problems by using "what works" rather than employing ideological approaches. This too is reasoning and judgment, rather than resort to theory without consideration for the facts on the ground. It does not mean that the President will not consider free-market economics, on the one hand, or government intervention, on the other, but he looks for solutions that take into account the myriad of consequences rather than simply going with a principle, results be damned. What is ironic, although maybe karmicly inevitable, is that this king of reason is being confronted with logic's nemises -- emotion, belief and intentional deception. Take, for example, Mr. Obama's first acts as President. The economy was diving into a deeper recession. The financial industry was frozen. The President supported a huge rescue program.

Obama Makes Moral Case for Health Care Reform
cptenaud
by cptenaud  9-10-2009    2
Obama did four key things in the speech. * He made the moral case for health care reform, referencing Senator Ted Kennedy many times throughout (read the Kennedy's letter to the president here), saying: "We are the only advanced democracy on Earth – the only wealthy nation – that allows such hardships for millions of its people. There are now more than thirty million American citizens who cannot get coverage. In just a two year period, one in every three Americans goes without health care coverage at some point. And every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage. In other words, it can happen to anyone." He made the reasonable case for bipartisanship He demonstrated that he will no longer suffer fools: And he provided the Congressional Progressive Caucus the cover it needs to pass a plan with a strong public option:

Unremarkable - Rep. Boustany and the GOP Response
cptenaud
by cptenaud  9-10-2009    1
Frankly, Rep. Boustany had no business being in the health care spotlight, despite his status as a heart surgeon. The Louisiana Republican mimicked the same tired & misleading arguments the GOP has made in the past related to the costs of the anticipated legislation. Most misleading, though, was Boustany's assertion that the proposals supported by Democrats amounts to, "Replacing your family’s current health care with government-run health care..." But, nobody's talking about doing that. His general message was that we can't afford reform and that we should approach it from another angle, but this is disingenuous. It was a passive-aggressive and cynical message, suggesting an awareness of the need for reform, but in a different way and at a different time. As Boustany put it, "we need to start over." Don't believe it.

"I need to get something off my chest, and I'd like you to write it down," he said. "Certainly, Mr. Key. Pleased to make your acquaintance," I told him, having decided to humor the guy. I was bored, and I was stuck on a train for the next hour, at least. He was dressed like a dandy and appeared to be harmless. "I assume you know who I am, and that I died long ago," he began. I nodded, and he continued, "You should know that we watch the living. We see everything." He proceeded to describe the present political drama in America with particular emphasis on the irrational fear of Barack Obama, "displayed in disparate, but decidedly loud segments of America's politically motivated," as he put it. He spoke of his observances like someone describing "Reality TV" to a person who had no idea what a television was.

The Matthew 15 comment. "Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them. "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.' "

McCain, Graham: Dead Wrong About Obama Approach On Iran

McCain and Graham seem to desire the cowboy diplomacy of the George W. Bush years, asserting that Obama is being too cautious on Iran. However, a return to the diplomatic belligerence of the previous administration would be a disaster. It would play directly into the hands of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatullah Ali Khamenei whose harsh response to the persistent protests is presently serving to loosen his grip on Iran's political reigns

More CIA Torture Docs to be Made Public This Week and Next

Continued: He eviscerates Dick Cheney's much publicized explanation of the CIA interrogation tactics. So, we've got a lot to look forward to over the next week. The un-redacted statements from "high-level members of al Qaeda" will be released on Friday. However, these won't do much sway the opinions of Bush defenders. The 2004 CIA Inspector General report, having been prepared while Bush was still in power, will be more difficult to deflect. We can expect the CIA IG report to be released on June 19. Let's just hope the CIA doesn't get carried away with the black marker.

Juan Cole's "The Coming McCain Military Draft"
cptenaud
by cptenaud  11-3-2008    1
McCain will need to institute a draft for young American men (and, given the times, maybe for women as well). McCain, just like the recent Bush Administration's hawkish rhetoric has been proven by the Russian/Georgian conflict to be nothing more than a bluff. Sure, there was a lot of tough talk and fist shaking at the Russians but no real actions were taken against them either by the Bush Administration. I wonder if those young McCain supporters realize what they are asking for? I doubt it. Though many of us already were seeing the writing on the wall, after many started serving in these theaters on second tours, than third, than forth, than for some fifth......................, the Military nor Country can sustain these misadventures let alone protect from the Blowback which will be from the Hatreds we've created!
