'Existing toilet facilities might be adapted to accommodate individual ritual cleansing which is sometimes part of religious lifestyle and worship.

'If such space is not available on a permanent or regular basis, extra efforts might be made to address such need for major religious festivals.'

The Islamic cleansing ritual, called 'Wudhu', is carried out by Muslims before they pray.

Islam teaches that Muslims are unfit for prayer if they have not performed Wudhu after breaking wind or using the toilet.

Wudhu involves washing the face, hands, arms and feet three times each, gargling the mouth three times and washing the neck and inside the nose and ears. Some Muslims also wash their private...

WHY should CATHOLIC schools have to provide this when PUBLIC SCHOOLS do not?
and--- they don't actually NEED all that- many Muslimsperform this ritual all over the world with only a pitcher and bowl of water- this is a desert founded religion...
and if they use the toilet- THEY SHOULD ALREADY BE USED TO HANDWASHING!

Integration can lead to assimilation, which is what they want. If some convert along the way, they've done, what they consider to be, a good job.
In the meantime the fees pay the bills.

You're right, Antara, the world has gone mad.

I tend to have more respect for people who stand up for their beliefs, even if I do not agree, no matter what. It is absolutely ridiculous for the Catholic church to ask this of their schools. Are the Muslim schools going to offer a special room for Christian students? I think not. Why would they? It wouldn't make sense to.

It makes one wonder if the Catholic church forgot the Old Testament stories of how once the Israelite's started "assimilating" other nation's beliefs into their beliefs everything went to you know what.

The Church's decision, these are "private" schools after all. They can do whatever they want. Nothing to do with public education. And besides I doubt anyone would use them except employees. So its a mute point.
