I think that this is a realy bad case of a disturbed human. while the net can be the vehicle it certainly is not the source of this behaviour.

Reckon it has a bit to do with honesty. And maybe throw in a little of the "Do unto others". The delux model can ask "why" and see options.
Also think types such as the above are the reason for what she is saying. Ironic. Verbal self flagellation, thinking you are hurting others.

There are trolls and mean-spirited people out there whether there is an internet or not. This woman has some serious mental issues and, worse, she's a parent who just set the "mother" of all bad examples. I don't see how it's the fault of the net - if she didn't have access to MySpace, she would have found another way. Maybe kids are hurting because of parents like her.

I hope we manage to maintain the complexity involved in issues of online identity and do not resort to all too flat solutions. Fear was never the best motive to law making!
