What a mess we have made I live in Florida, and have for 57 years. My base line goes way back. I have spent a great deal of time on the various reefs in the keys. What was once full of color is now grey and mostly dead. All the Major springs of North-central Florida are flat and the minimum flow is cloudy water. Orlando's on 100% reuse of it's water. Tampa/St Pete has already turned to desalination 10 years ago. The major culprits are unbridled growth and the lack of proper sewage treatment. There are over 6000 new people moving to Florida every day. That's very sad, Lophatt. There is a "dead zone" off the Oregon Coast where the marine life is dying fast. Nobody knows why for sure--a combo of global warming, pollution and over-fishing. Anthropogenic Activity, is the answer. |
