sohil says: Interesting very interesting. great clip! By the pace Google is expanding in, it's more like 2008 Cool... I especially like the "I'm feeling lucky" for the right wing and "I'm feeling paranoid" for the left wing... the version I saw had 'I'm feeling paranoid' on the right ... Good clip! @summer70 - physically (provided you're not from the Middle East) you're right - it's on the right side of the page, however politically... it's the opposite of the physical layout (provided you're not from the Middle East - everything over there is backwards or maybe not, maybe they have the politics and physical sides aligned and we have it backwards) I am not sure how Google will look like in 2084, if they are still there. Actually I am not sure how they will look like in 5 years time. 1. Microsoft has the advantage of owning the OS, so competing with them is difficult, they will dominate the world for some time. Our ability to choose Google for search, and Yahoo for Flickr and so on is because its all Windows apps, once we have more than one OS, it will look different, and more complicated. Compatibility is keyword. 2. So Google future is in the web, and there there are always emerging new companies, and Google advantage is for the today, as long as their search algorithm is better? What services to you get from Google beside the sea... 1. If you believe that - you must still be using CP/M 2. Gmail, calendar not so great? It's a heck of a lot better than similar offerings from MS or anyone else for that matter. Their integration with each other and ability to connect with mobile devices - ALL FREE makes it most difficult for someone to underprice them. I've yet to see a serious challenger with similar tools. Google is extremely well known and used in business, not their software package... but from personal experience with some clients - they have no problems moving into that territory. In fact my latest project, a system to run a resort in Napa - the client insisted on using Web app, i.e. Google's approach to running... "1. They also already have started purchasing online office software for the every day user such as writeley and google spreadsheets. Currently people are taking the time to switch from microsoft to open office and linux in ever increasing numbers. It is going Google's way, ho... ha ha nice clip sohil! the best thing about this was that....it says "your brain"...well, who knows...if we get to see that in future I think it's pretty funny But also a little bit scary, and probably true...lol It's nice to see such old threads still alive Add Your Conversations to this * "Your Conversation" (for the image, now that Google decided to spy on our conversations) nice The Clipper Invasion is giving me and my clips some sweet attention. awesome, search brain aparently is actually in the works obviously still theoretical but they do actually have scientist on it Is it intentional Google still looks so simple and minimalist in 2084? That year makes me think of Robotron. sohil, there were 99 pops - I couldn't resist...and popped the next one. Kinda gives a whole new meaning to the expression, "google me". Is everything in B&W in the future??? 'satellite photos of people you want to spy on'? 'I'm feeling paranoid' should be replaced with 'I'm feeling pessimistic'. where'd you get this??? RecordSage, I usually find myself in the same situation. thinboy, I can't really catch your drift. For the source look at clipped from section at the top of the content. In this case, it's NYT. LOL yea and in 2048 they're gonna run outta colors nice but what is saying law when we spy eachothers...!!! seems that Google will rule the world one day sohil, opposite of feeling lucky is pessimism, not paranoid...ness (how do you make "paranoid" a noun, anyway? Found this while going through some old clips gigijin, All empire's eventually come to an end. The quicker the rise, the quicker the fall. (RecordSage?) thinboy, It wasn't just supposed to be the opposite. Paranoid is also being in a state of paranoid. Like "You are paranoid". I haven't built my empire... yet, so I can't comment sohil As for google - they're certainly mighty... use them daily myself. Unless there's a royal screw up of unprecedented proportions - I don't see them falling any time soon. Same with MS. I'm new to clipmarks and found this clip..... scary thing is, it just might not be too far from the truth!! |
